Worthwhile Upgrade from DD-WRT and for Speed!

After discovering the dual-gateway and port-forwarding features of SabaiOS v.5 within a single router plus the VPNA offering, it gave me the perception that this company knows the marketplace gaps and its target customer.
Setup of my E4200/VPNA bundle was straightforward. Static IP, dual gateway and port-forwarding features worked as described with one peculiarity: it appears that by setting up the VPNA as your VPN gateway, the VPNA acts as an independent third gateway but the current router OS does not support port-forwarding for devices assigned to that gateway. I look forward to a future OS upgrade.
Previously my internet speeds rarely approached ~7Mbps (download)/~1Mbps (Upload) thorough my DD-WRT-flashed WRT610N on a 15/2 service. Over the past two months using the E4200/VPNA bundle, speeds ranged consistently between ~11-14/~1-1.5.
I have not had any router or VPNA lockups but have restarted both a few times successfully after tweaking the configuration.

Happy customer living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I would like to make two comments on my recent Sabai experience. My facts, I am from the US and on an expat assignment in Malaysia. Several months ago I purchased a VPN router and brought it with me to Malaysia. Set up was a breeze and it's been working fabulously since, with the family very happy to be able to watch Netflix and Hulu. A real life saver. On to my two new points:
1. I recently ordered a Sabai VPN accelerator as we download a lot of HD movies and the kids play a lot of video games. That said, I ordered my accelerator. Within a few hours I had a confirmation the unit would be shipped. Within several days the accelerator arrived to me in Malaysia. Contrast this to most other packages I have sent from the US which takes weeks to arrive. In addition, even materials ordered and shipped locally in Malaysia take weeks to arrive. The unbelievable speed and constant updates on my package, proved to me just how excellent Sabai service is.
2. I'm no tech guy and in the process of getting my accelerator set up, inadvertently messed up all my settings. I reached out to Sabai and set up an appointment with Ruth Petty. Let me tell you - Ruth is a Sabai treasure. She took the time to fix all my settings, set up my accelerator and in addition, explained to me what she did. Not only tech support but tech education. She was pleasant, efficient and very knowledgeable.
Ruth and Sabai have my thanks for reminding me that excellent, customer focused service is not dead. I preach to most of my fellow expats out here to get hooked up with Sabai. Most are amazed and surprised that we can get all our US sites so far from home.
Thank you!
Best Regards,

Item refuses to work, no customer support

I am US military living overseas. I purchased a VPN router and accelerator, both of which were relatively expensive. The items arrived and I tried to set up my equipment, but neither functions well.
I attempted to set up the router with StrongVPN, but the OpenVPN configuration file that was supplied by StrongVPN was not recognized by the router. After trying Customer support on both sides, without any support, I just switched to PPTP, which does actually work.
I then plugged in the VPN accelerator, which still does not work. I called customer support several times, was always put on hold then told the tech would not be in until later that afternoon. I did get one email saying their equipment was down, without any follow up or support. As it is, the VPN does function, but I spent $200 on a router that does not support OpenVPN, and $300 on an accelerator that is functionally useless.

Signed up for Strong VPN service, and soon enough, decided that Sabai's router is a must. Later added the VPN Accelerator to get some real speed. Had some difficulty in setting it up correctly. Contaced customer service, and was helped out by Ms. Ruth Petty. She has so much patience, and knowledge about the product. Ruth, you are the best!

VPN Accelerator excellent speed increase!

I've recently purchased the "Sabai VPN Accelerator" to complement my VPN service. My router is a Linksys E4200 running Sabai Freedom Support Package with open vpn service, and local internet service is DSL 200mbps, prior to the VPN Accelerator my download speed thru my VPN was 5-7mbps which is good enough for most streaming, but with my VPN Acellerator installed I am now streaming at download speeds well in excess of 25-40mbps! I highly recommend this wonderful device if you want to bring your VPN service up to its full potential. The support staff at Sabai were great in assisting me in getting my VPN Accelerator up and running, Thank You!
