Netgear Nighthawk R7000 VPN Router Setup
At Sabai Technology, we are committed to customer service. The Sabai VPN Router setup is created with beginners in mind and Technical Support is available for customers who need assistance. Plug and play style, Sabai OS is particularly easy when compared with DIY options such as DD-WRT.
Getting started
To set up your Sabai OS powered Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router:
- Unplug your modem from the power supply
- Connect your router to the modem via ethernet cable
- Plug in your Netgear R7000 router and modem to the power socket
- Start up the modem and router
- Open your web browser and type into the address bar: 192.168.199.1
- Enter the password that came with your router
Now you’re at the Sabai OS home screen, Follow the instructions in this guide to finish setting up your VPN router.
Gateways
Sabai Technology's most unique and popular advanced networking feature is Gateways. This feature provides a list of all the devices on your network, and allows you to designate whether they should use your local IP address, your VPN IP address, and/or your VPN Accelerator IP address. (What is the VPN Accelerator?) All of this control from one single router connection can only come from Sabai.
Multiple wireless networks in one home can slow down both connections. Everyone knows that when it comes to VPN, speed is crucial - especially if the main goal of your VPN account is entertainment! Gateways means that your laptop can be on local internet and your Smart TV on VPN to the UK or US, every time you boot up. No interference. No switching networks.

Netgear Nighthawk R7000 optimized by Sabai OS
Even though the Sabai Technology Netgear R7000 router looks the same as the basic model purchased elsewhere, we have installed our special operating system, designed to run a VPN account.
Sabai Technology has developed a firmware that works seamlessly with OpenVPN and PPTP, the most popular VPN protocols.
Typically, VPN only works on a single VPN enabled device. A "normal" or "off the shelf" router isn't VPN enabled, even if it says it allows VPN pass-thru. This 'pass-thru' feature only means that if you are running VPN on your computer but are connected to the internet via wireless, it will still work. It is only when you use your VPN account on a Sabai VPN Router that you can actually broadcast your VPN IP address to your entire home network.

By now you may be thinking - “Why do I need a VPN router, what’s the problem with just having a VPN on my laptop?”
Well, it’s great that you take your privacy seriously, but by having a simple VPN setup on your laptop, you’re missing out on so much!

Great device; easy to set-up, extremely fast speed, with great coverage. A great improvement on our older router and very easy to manage. A great adition to our small business IT equipment.

Netgear Nighthawk R7000
I have to admit that at first I was a bit skeptical about a plug and play vpn router but the techs at Sabai put that notion to rest right away. A person like myself who knows just enough to get themself into trouble needs a place like this to turn to. They took care of everything and made it simple and the technical support over the phone is nothing short of phenomenal. They take their time to get it right and leave you satisfied and happy with a superior product. If you think the price is a bit high it’s really not because you get in my opinion more than that in many ways for instance they give you an understanding of what’s going on and completely answer your questions even ridiculous ones. I can’t thank them enough because I’m streaming away without any problems and I know I have someone who can help in a jam.

Solid Router
Happy with my purchase of this Sabai R7000. The only thing that prevents me from leaving a 5-star rating has nothing to do with Sabai. Their service and software has been outstanding. My only minor complaint is with the antenna strength on the R7000. From the reviews, I figured that the range on this router would be more than enough for my home. Admittedly, the router is next to a brick fireplace, but this issue didn't even phase my last router (Linksys AC1900). With the R7000, I lose a signal bar in the farthest points in my home, but everything still stays connected without issue.

My old (4 yrs Sabai Belkin) was working fine but slower speeds which is expected for its age. This Netgear Nighthawk R7000 has increased my speed significantly. Would recommend it to anyone. Just plug it in and away you go. The Sabai staff is very helpful. The only place I buy my routers from.

Easy installation

Superb VPN Router
I bought my Netgear Nighthawk 7000 Router powered by Sabai OS two years ago and had it shipped to Europe. Up until recently I was having to reboot it at least once a day as it would constantly drop my VPN connection. However after speaking to my VPN provider I found out that this was not a fault of the router but the way I had set up the VPN settings. Now it stays connected 24/7 and I haven't needed to reboot in ages. I highly recommend this router and Sabai OS and cant see me ever changing to anything else as it does everything I require it to do.

So impressed with the Sabai approach. I engaged before purchase to learn more and their technical professionals (Rhett in my case) answered my questions in plain english and didn't upsell or overpromise.
