The Asus RT-N66U VPN Router powered by Sabai OS combines dual-band Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, and router-level VPN connectivity in a reliable option for homes with multiple connected devices. With a compatible VPN configured on the router, connected devices can use the VPN without requiring separate VPN software on each device. This is especially useful for smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, and other devices that may not support VPN applications directly.
Sabai OS also includes Gateways, which allows you to choose whether individual devices use your VPN connection or your regular local internet connection.

Asus RT-N66U VPN Router Setup
Your Asus RT-N66U arrives with Sabai OS already installed, so there is no need to flash or install the router firmware yourself. Basic network and VPN setup can be completed through the Sabai OS browser-based interface.
To get started:
- Unplug your modem from power.
- Connect the Asus RT-N66U to your modem using an Ethernet cable.
- Connect power to your Asus RT-N66U.
- Restore power to your modem and allow both devices to start.
- Connect your computer or device to the RT-N66U.
- Open a web browser and go to 192.168.199.1.
- Enter the login information provided with your router.
- Follow our Sabai OS VPN Router Setup Guide to complete your router and VPN configuration.
Sabai OS Gateways
Sabai OS Gateways gives you control over which devices on your network use your VPN connection and which use your regular local internet connection.
For example, you can assign a smart TV or streaming device to your VPN while allowing a computer, phone, or game console to continue using your regular internet connection. Device assignments can be managed directly from the Sabai OS dashboard and saved for future use.
The RT-N66U can also be used with a compatible VPN Accelerator, allowing supported devices to be assigned to the VPN Accelerator through Gateways for dedicated VPN processing.
Whole-Network VPN Connectivity
Configuring a compatible VPN connection at the router level allows devices throughout your network to access the VPN without installing and configuring separate VPN software on every device.
This is particularly useful for devices that may not support traditional VPN applications, including smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, and other connected devices.
Instead of managing individual VPN applications across multiple devices, the Asus RT-N66U with Sabai OS provides centralized VPN and network management from the router's browser-based dashboard.
Dual-Band Wi-Fi & Gigabit Ethernet
The Asus RT-N66U provides simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless connectivity, allowing compatible devices to connect to the wireless band that best fits their needs. Three external antennas and built-in Wi-Fi amplifiers help provide strong wireless coverage throughout your home.
For devices where speed and connection stability are especially important, four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports provide fast wired connectivity for computers, smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, network storage, and other Ethernet-enabled devices.

Some streaming services, websites, applications, and other online services attempt to detect and block VPN traffic. excellent OS, powerful router
I am highly impressed with this OS. It works very well. I am glad I happened across it. I wanted a router with punch. This one does. With Sabai OS included, it also does everything I need, most things with just the click of the mouse. Frankly, the gateway function which turns a very difficult coding issue into a breeze makes the entire thing a no-brainer in terms of cost. It has saved me hours.

All I can say is "WOW! Really well done with this router!"
I purchased this router and received it in a short amount of time. When I opened the box I was presented with a card as to who tested the router "Ken" and when it was tested and verified "3-9-15" and that it had the latest firmware "6.0". As a IT Networking guy I really appreciate it when a company does gives you that information. There is so many that don't! When I turned on the router and logged in to it I didn't know what to expect since it is a custom built IOS. Wow! The interface and controls were so simplistic! Put it this way, even if you have never setup a router before this by far was the easiest router to configure and understand. Also, If you are a router and switching guy like me and would like to have complete control to configure the router through controlling QOS, monitor and log Web usage per device, full diagnostics capability and other advanced configurations these guys thought of everything! I would highly recommend this router! Great job Sabai Technology!

As a newbie, I'm not very sophisticated regarding VPNs and routers. Having done my research, I selected the Asus RT-N66U router to support my VPN. I am so glad I did. It quadrupled my Comcast up and download speeds, even with 9 devices running simultaneously on the same WiFi network. No more buffering while streaming content on Netflix, online gaming is much more enjoyable, and no more dropped connections. Setup of the router couldn't be simpler with clear instructions dedicated to my specific VPN. When I did have a minor connection issue, the help from Chris in tech support was far and away beyond my expectations. I felt like a 5-star VIP! Through video conferencing and remote log in, he guided me through my problem with skill and ease. If you're unsure of spending $300 to upgrade your equipment, don't be. Without hesitation, I highly recommend the Asus RT-66U and Sabai Technology. It's a stellar product and Sabai stands behind what they sell.

RT-N66U WiFi VPN Router
Been using this router for about 7 months. It has performed fast and flawlessly. It is feature packed and provides a highly flexible level of security for our home business. I've used the lesser spec'd Cisco Linksys and ISP provided gateways, but for the discriminating user this is a great product.

N66U Router
I must say the cost was a bit high but the router is awesome..Better wifi range than any other i have used,(getting 5 bars all the way down in basement that's 3 floors) Love the way you can control which component can be directed to use either the VPN or keep it Local, great idea.. I hope i get many years of service from this... Is it worth the money YES considering what you get, easy setup , hassle free , would recommend to everyone....
